Abstract: Timber trade is an important factor which guarantee the stable operation of timber market and promotes the grows of timber industry in China. Currently, world economy has entered post-crisis era, and will have important impacts on Chinese timber trade in the future. Based on trade data of 2008 and 2009, this paper comparatively analyzes import of resource\|products such as log and lumber, and export of processing products such as wood-based panel and wooden furniture. The development tendency of international timber trade in post-crisis era is summarized. Finally, countermeasures are suggested from four perspectives of export market diversities, exploitation of domestic market, legality certification of timber products, and cultivation of self-owned brand of exports considering sustainable development of timber trade in China.
