Abstract: Research on the history of a discipline is important to the discipline construction. Based on reviewing the early forestry economics management core curriculums, this paper researches the history of education and origin of forestry economics and management discipline in China. The conclusion 　indicates that the discipline originated in a course of forestry policy offered by the former Beijing Agriculture School in 1915, which is 30 years earlier than the popular view.
