Abstract:
Selecting the regional demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship containing townships (towns) as the research object, the paper tests the effects and paths of the construction of regional demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship on rural revitalization based on the panel data of 205 cities in China from 2010 to 2020 using the multi-period difference-in-difference method. The study finds that: ①The establishment of regional demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship can significantly promote rural revitalization. ②The promotion of rural revitalization by the construction of regional demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship is more significant in the central and western regions. ③The construction of regional demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship promotes rural revitalization through the mechanisms of enhancing the level of scientific and technological innovation and promoting the accumulation of human capital. Based on this, the paper puts forward policy suggestions from the aspects of strengthening the guiding and demonstrating role of the bases, reasonably optimizing the spatial layout of the bases, and focusing on the path of the construction of the bases to promote rural revitalization.
