The Course and Impact of Reforestation in Communist Revolutionary Base Areas: A Case Study Centered on Taihang District

  • Since its establishment as a revolutionary base, the Taihang region has consistently been on the front lines of combat against the enemy. The ravages of war and human destruction have led to a continuous deterioration of the environment, posing significant challenges to the production and daily lives of the local population. Under the leadership of the Taihang Regional Party Committee, various areas in the region not only established forestry management organizations but also formulated detailed forestry policies and regulations. Through the establishment of nurseries, the selection and breeding of superior seedlings, as well as enhanced forestry education and technology promotion, the afforestation campaign was successfully carried out. With the propaganda and mobilization efforts of the Taihang Regional Party Committee, the local populace spontaneously participated in the afforestation campaign, alleviating the ecological crisis in the Taihang region and promoting its economic development. Even today, the afforestation efforts in the Taihang region continue to provide valuable experience and important insights for China's ecological civilization construction.
