A Research on the Ecological Protection Laws and Rescripts with the Practice During the Tang Dynasty

  • Many sources of the propositions about the ecological civilization building in China are based on the traditional Chinese culture and history. The Tang Dynasty was a prime stage in the traditional society, which was also an important period in the process of ecological environment evolution. In order to enrich the people’s livelihood and consolidate the dynasty, the emperors and the government issued many rescripts and laws, aiming to protect natural resources including water, wildlife, and vegetation,and these rescripts and laws were implemented in practice.This paper focuses on the field and content involved in the ecological protection rescripts and laws during the Tang Dynasty, clarifies their implementation, and summarizes their characteristics, in an attempt to provide reference for the current society.
