Analysis of Forestry Industry Advantages in Plain Zones in China

Forestry development in plain areas has a significant meaning to economic development, adjustment of industry structure and resolution of problems of the agriculture, rural areas and farmers. The plain areas are key places for wood products and food supply, and also are important places for non-wood products. It is necessary to promote economic development of forestry industry. There are outstanding differences of forestry economic development in different plain areas. We should take measures adapted to local conditions to display forestry industry advantages of plain areas and embody the local scale economy. Based on the data of 868 counties in 26 provinces in China, this paper calculates the concentration ratio and location quotient of plain areas, analyzes their forestry industry scale and distribution. Comparative advantages of forestry industry in six plain areas in China are determined, policy suggestions on forestry leading industry are put forward.
