Ecological Consciousness in Rescripts of Tang Dynasty

  • Tang Dynasty is a prosper period of the traditional culture in ancient China. It is an important evolving stage in the development of traditionary ecological consciousness. With declaring the national policies, useful ecological consciousnesses were also contained in the imperial rescripts of Tang Dynasty, such as consciousness of ecological harmony of complying with nature and foster everything on earth, consciousness of ecological protection of prefering kindhearted to injury to the plants and animals, consciousness of ecological management of encouraging arboriculture for utilization. Under the comprehensive effect of the theory of unity of nature and human, the ethos and the physiocracy, ecological consciousness in the imperial rescripts of Tang Dynasty exhibits distinct characteristics of that era.
