Impacting Factors of Farmers Purchasing Wooden Building Materials Products: Based on Survey Data in 12 Pilot Provinces and Municipality City

Abstract
The project of subsidies for farmers to purchase wooden building materials is one of the measures taken by Chinese government to deal with the economic crisis. It can thrive rural consumer market just like the project of subsidies for farmers to purchase household appliances. Based on survey data of 958 households in 12 provinces and municipality city, this paper uses Logistic regression model to find out the key factors which impact on farmers purchase behavior on wooden building materials. The research results show that some variables have significant positive impact on purchase behavior, such as households education level, average annual income, house structure, product quality, the tedious application procedure or not, the length of getting subsidies, free commission charge or not, and geographic position of house. Suggestions are given for smoothly implementing the project of subsidies for farmers to purchase wooden building materials.
