Regulation of Residential Areas in Scenic Spot under Five Overall Plans

  • The development of scenic spot not only protects resource and environment, but also produces dual influences to social economy and ecological environment for scenic spot and its peripheral residential areas. The problem of residential areas exists and can not be avoided in every scenic spot. Under the backgrounds of Five Overall Plans (balancing urban and rural development, balancing development among regions, balancing economic and social development, balancing development of man and nature, and balancing domestic development and wider-opening to the outside world), taking Chenghu lake of Suzhou city as an example, this paper discusses how to regulate residential areas in scenic spots in view of theories and practices at home and abroad, and gives suggestions.
