Influencing Factor of Forestry Staff Salary: Based on Provincial Panel Data

  • This paper analyzes the influencing factors of forestry staff salary based on the panel data of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and cities from 1999 to 2010 in China. The results show that three factors, i.e. the percentage of professional technicians, the average salary per year in all industries, and the number of on-guard staff, have significant effect on forestry staff salary. Other factors, including the provincial GDP, the percentage of forestry tertiary-industry, the gross product of forestry industry and forest storage have no significant influence. Then, proposals on forestry staff salary reform in China are suggested.
