Travel Notes of China and India is the earliest travel notes about China and India which was
written by the Arabians in the 910th centuries. Some sections of the book recorded Chinese forestry
information in Tang Dynasty seen and heard by Arabian merchants, such as natural forest distribution,
economic forest development, exploitation and utilization of forest animal and plant resources, ecological
environment, city afforestation and forest deforestation by war etc, so the book heralds the introduction
and spreading of Chinese forestry to Europe and Arab world and is a precious document that can be used
for study of ancient Chinese forestry. In Arabian merchants'eyes, China's Tang Dynasty enjoyed rich
forestry resources, developed forestry economy, various forest product and forest flora, beautiful urban
and natural environment, harmonious ecological environment, and prosperity in people's life, and
therefore was an attractive country, but the war in the end of Tang Dynasty caused great damage to
forestry.
