Abstract:
This paper discusses the significance of landscape art on the premise that the picturesque garden belongs to the artistic category. From the point of view of national culture, the authors point out that Teutonic spirit of freedom and primitive religious belief are the two most important factors that influence the aesthetics of this nation. Because the aesthetic psychology of the nation is empathetic to the nature, the landscape arts of reverence for the nature can represent the tradition of Teutonic national art. The analogy method lists the complementarity of pastoral poetry and landscape painting in the same period, the contrast method compares gardening art between Teutonic and Latin people. Finally, it points out that the traditional landscape art of the Teutonic nation is a highlight of advanced ecology, and summarizes the positive value of landscape art in the contemporary ecological psychology.
