Abstract:
Based on data from 2006 to 2016 in Guangxi, this paper analyzes the spatial-temporal differences in tourism income by using variation coefficient, Gini coefficient and Thiel index. Then the static panel data model is established to analyze the factors influencing regional tourism income in Guangxi. The results show that the absolute difference of tourism income in Guangxi is increasing gradually while the relative difference is decreasing gradually; the spatial distribution of tourism income is polarized and divergent, and the spatial differences mainly come from the Xijiang Economic Zone and the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. Per capita GDP and total road mileage have significant positive impacts on tourism income in various regions. Increasing the abundance of tourism resources, the number of travel agencies and star-rated hotels can promote the growth of tourism income in different regions. Accordingly, this paper puts forward some suggestions for different regions, such as promoting the healthy development of the regional economy, perfecting the layout of transportation network, and improving the quality of tourism resources and the capacity of tourism reception.
