Abstract:
With the development of protected areas system with national parks as the main body, the construction and management of national parks are facing higher expectations. The introduction of metaverse and other related technologies can help build digital simulation platform for national parks and enable more precise and intelligent conservation planning. Based on the current development status of metaverse in different industries, we explore the application prospects of metaverse in simulating natural environments and ecosystem changes in national parks, assisting in decision-making and planning, conducting wildlife monitoring, and developing nature education. In addition, we outlined the key technologies to be used in constructing a metaverse-based national park model. In this paper, challenges in the construction of digital twins of national parks were discussed, and future research directions were proposed. We suggest that future studies should strengthen the background investigation, deeply analyze the complex ecosystem simulations and decision optimization models, promote the development of key technologies and projects. We expects to provide reference for the establishment of the metaverse-based simulation models of national parks and the digital transformation of the construction and management of national parks.
