Abstract: Digital technology are profoundly transforming the production mode and development mode of human society, injecting new impetus into the development of ecological civilization. Building a green and intelligent digital ecological civilization has become an inevitable choice. Through a systematic analysis from the three dimensions of history, theory, and reality,it can be clearly understood that the construction of a digital ecological civilization is an inevitable trend for digital technology to drive the evolution and development of ecological civilization, an inevitable orientation after the digital extension of Marx and Engels' ecological outlook, and an inevitable path for digital technology to empower the construction of Chinese - style modernization. However, currently, the construction of digital ecological civilization is facing the hidden risk of the prevalence of technological rationality, the technical bottlenecks of weak infrastructure and insufficient data processing capabilities, and the guarantee problems of the dual lag of the domestic policy system and the international cooperation mechanism.
