Abstract:
How to reduce the contradiction between the protection and utilization of natural resources in national parks is the challenge confronting national park managers and decision-makers in China. The key to solve the contradiction is to carry out the research of environmental interpretation and visitors' environmentally responsible behavior, and to cultivate and strengthen visitors' environmentally responsible behavior. Therefore, this paper takes the pilot area of Shennongjia National Park as an example, is based on stimulus-organism-response (SOR) model, constructs a structural relation model among environmental interpretation, natural empathy, place attachment and environmentally responsible behavior. We collect primary data by distributing questionnaires, and use structural equation model (SEM) to explore the mechanism and path of the impact of national park visitors' environmental interpretation on their environmentally responsible behavior. The results show that: ① the environmental interpretation of Shennongjia National Park has significant positive effect on the natural empathy and place attachment of park visitors; ② the natural empathy of visitors in Shennongjia National Park has significant positive impact on place attachment, and the stronger the degree of empathy, the more likely to have place attachment; ③ both natural empathy and place attachment of visitors in Shennongjia National Park have significant positive effects on their environmentally responsible behavior, but the effect of natural empathy is stronger than place attachment; ④ natural empathy and place attachment of park visitors play a chain mediating role in the influence of environmental interpretation on environmentally responsible behavior. This paper sharpens and enriches the research on the internal mechanism of environmental interpretation in national parks affecting visitors' environmentally responsible behavior, and provides scientific support and management suggestions for cultivating visitors' environmentally responsible behavior by optimizing the environmental interpretation system in national parks.
