  • 摘要: 中国传统社会里,梧桐往往以偶数栽植。双桐意象指涉丰富,研究双桐意象具有文学、民俗、宗教等多方面的价值。乡土社会里,双桐是家园的象征,全国有不少以“双桐”命名的村落。士人文化中,双桐又是精神的盟友,文人常以“双桐”为字号、室名。世俗世界里,双桐是爱情的表征,“双桐”是夫妇好合,“半死桐”则是丧偶。宗教世界里,双桐则又是佛门圣物,双桐是中土化的娑罗双树。

     

    Abstract: In traditional Chinese society, Phoenix Tree is usually planted in even number. The image of Shuangtong has rich connotations. Studying these connotations has values in aspects of literature, folk custom and religion. In rural society, Shuangtong is the symbol of homeland. There are many villages in China which are named by Shuangtong. In the culture of scholars, Shuangtong is the ally of their spirit, so that they usually use Shuangtong as the name of themselves and their houses. In secular world, Shuangtong represents love between men and women. Shuangtong means harmonious relationship between husband and wife, while Bansitong( one is alive, and the other is died) means widower or widow. In the world of religion, Shuangtong is a sacred thing in Buddhism and it’s actually the Sal in China.
