Abstract: The construction of cultural ecology reserve in grassland is a pioneering work in Chinese intangible cultural heritage protection at present. Because there is no template for reference in China, we must refer experiences from abroad and consult the history and reality of grassland regions to explore our own path in establishing cultural ecology reserve in grassland. This paper demonstrates the preconditions of establishing cultural ecology protection zone; put forward ideas about steps, models and approaches of establishing cultural ecology protection zone in grassland areas with experiences at home and abroad.
