  • Timber trade is considered an important factor of guaranteeing stable operation of timber market and growth of timber industry in China. Currently, the accelerating global financial crisis has become a key factor to impact sustainable development of China’s timber trade. Based on the trade data of 2007 and 2008, this paper comparatively an alyzes import fluctuation of log and lumber and export fluctuation of woodbased panel and wooden furniture, and summarizes major development tendency of international timber trade. In light of sustainable timber trade, the paper puts forward countermeasures in the aspects of import trade diversity, timber legality certification, export brand cultivation and market integration.
