Abstract:
We analyzed the survey data on the willingness of purchasing forest insurance of 3 500 farmer households from Liaoning, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Shaanxi, Gansu and Yunnan provinces in 2016 with a Logit empirical method. The regression results showed that such seven factor variables as forest land area, the commercial forest area proportion, whether they know the policy-type forest insurance, whether they have participated in forest insurance, household forestry expenditure, household forestry income and whether the household owner has participated in forestry training, had a significant effect on farmers' willingness of purchasing forest insurance. We propose to increase forest insurance propaganda, increase forestry revenue, promote the development of commercial forest, and strengthen the policy publicity to feature-fixed farmers.
