  • In the period of the Republic of China, the afforestation activities in Suiyuan area were taken seriously and became the most important measure to develop forestry in this area. Especially in the 1920s and 1930s, through publicizing and planning, afforestation became a national activity. Due to the differences in the degree of development in different regions, the effectiveness of afforestation also presented unbalance. Therefore, we should not only summarize the experience, but also affirm the positive propaganda and advocacy, the improvement of the awareness of environmental protection and the cultivation of forestry talents of the Suiyuan government.
