Preliminary Analysis of Humanistic Design in Scale of Garden

  • The scale design of garden reflects designers thoughts and abilities. The humanistic design of garden scale has always been an important part for designers. Based on detailed analysis of the concept of scale, the garden scale is defined in this paper. In view of basic meaning of humanization, the authors classify humanistic garden scale into three levels, namely physiological level, psychological level and social level. Through demonstration, the authors point out that the reasonable scale design should meet different needs of people, and create humanistic activity space. The humanistic scale design accords with the inevitable trend of garden history. The essential factors which meet the demand of humanity include the analysis of multiple characteristics of human, fully consideration of the spirit of place and so on.
